Double wall PROTECT pipes have specific strength and quality characteristics, they are a unique product of SPIROPLAST plant. The specific protective layer (10% of the wall thickness) and working pipe (90% of the wall thickness) are inseparably joined and this enables minimization of possible pipe deformation at heavy loads.

Double wall PROTECT pipes

The protective layer tubes Protect and Protect Crack Resist works like a hard outer shell – takes the direct load on the pipe and distributes the additional load caused by fragments of stones, sharp edges of old pipes, valves or the load on the ground.

To produce a two-layer pipe Protect Crack Resist using a special polyethylene Holstalen CRP 100 Resist CR, which has excellent resistance to slow the spread of cracks and long-term hydrostatic resistance.

Plant “Spiroplast” received a technical certificate on the suitability of two-layer polyethylene pipes Protect, a diameter of 16-315 mm for the construction of external pressure water supply and sanitation systems.

Suitability Protect bilayer polyethylene pipes for pressurized supply of cold water (except without the device trench laying sand grounds) for the production determined using inner and outer layers of polyethylene pipes marks type PE 100 with proven characteristics of long durability under the influence of internal pressure, according to ISO 9080.

Test on stability to the cracks

Load spikes on the inner surface of the double-layer polyethylene pipe and Protect Protect Crack Resist two times lower than on the surface of normal pressure polyethylene pipes.

Conclusions:
  1. Double-layer protective coating of polyethylene pipes and Protect Protect Crack Resist receives and distributes the stress and prevent their spread to the working tube.
  2. The special composition of polyethylene reliably prevent cracks on the inside of the pipe.
For work with pipes and Protect Protect Crack Resist must meet the following conditions:
  1. For the alignment layer can be used sand, soil, gravel or crushed stone but with restrictions (not contain stones with a diameter of 64 mm, the content of stones with a diameter 32-64 mm, not more than 15%, the material can not be frozen, and there should be no sharp rocks );
  2. If the bottom of the trench bottom level and material meets the above requirements for grain composition alignment layer, the pipe and Protect Protect Crack Resist, laid outside areas of traffic, there is no need for a separate leveling layer, in this case, the tube is placed directly on the bottom of the trench and covered The stored material.
  3. If the excavated material is not suitable for high-quality filling, you can use sand, gravel or crushed stone with a maximum size fractions up to 10% of the pipe diameter.

The layer thickness of 1 m. from the top of the pipe should not be a stumbling over 300 mm in diameter and 30 cm in the layer directly above the pipe not more than 60 mm. The maximum allowable size fractions of filling material is 2/3 of the thickness of each compacted layer, the material must have a mixed structure to prevent the formation of voids and uneven freezing.

Protect pipes and Protect Crack Resist are also effective for the most common methods of trenchless installation – “pipe in pipe” and “hacking.”
